Where Have All The Patriots Gone?
March 20, 2006
In 1776, Lutheran Pastor Peter Muhlenberg spoke the following words to his congregation; “There is a time for all things, a time to preach and a time to pray, but those times have passed away. There is a time to fight, and that time has now come”. He later went on to become an Army officer, and commanded the Virginia Regiment into many battles that led to our independence from British imperialism. Our founding patriots risked personal safety, honor, and fortunes for the God given right to liberty, and the peace of unfettered independence. The Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution serve as a manifestation of the framers moral and spiritual intent in forming the “Free Republic”. The three branches of government, executive, legislative, and judiciary are all bound to The U.S. Constitution, and its further delineation in apportionment of governing authority and the limitations thereof among the Federal, State, and Local Governments. Still, we hear politicians, political pundits, and the like, refer to our form of government as a Democracy. Karl Marx, in his communist manifesto considered Democracy to be “the road to Socialism”. Contrary to what some would like us to believe, the truth is clearly stated in the following words of Benjamin Franklin; “America was created as a representative constitutional republic”. Thank God it was our founder’s wisdom, and not the aforementioned political blowhard’s ignorance that formed our government. James Madison; in Federalist No. 10, described a Democracy as follows, “Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths”. Fisher Ames, while making a speech during the Massachusetts Ratifying convention said; “The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness which the ambitious call, and ignorant believe to be liberty”. No, our founders did not create a Democracy in the United States of America. Through their belief in freedom, and the God given right to liberty, our Sovereign Constitutional Republic was formed.
Americans must now unite against the assault being waged on our liberty and national sovereignty. The federal government has betrayed the American people. The government has abrogated its oath to the constitution, and is now governing under the pervasive influence of the Global Elitists. I use the term “Global Elitists” to describe a conglomerate of organizations to include, The Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderbergers, United Nations, Skull & Bones, Federal Reserve, World Bank, IMF, Bank of International Settlements IBF, World Trade Organization, and others to many to mention. While marching to the beat of the Global Elitists drum, the federal government usurps its limited constitutional authority, and works to transform us from a sovereign republic in to”New World Order” serfdom. While I observe this disaster evolving, I often ask; where is the outrage from the American people! Have we become too self consumed, or are we now too ignorant to be self -governed? Thomas Jefferson explained the danger of a silent citizenry as follows; “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” This pervasive assault on our “Constitutional Republic” has reared its head in many forms. Allow me to list several that every American should be aware of:
- The deliberate attempt for removal and denial of our Judeo Christian heritage, despite its profound influence on the Founding Fathers. George Washington said, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible”. During a speech in 1779 he said; “What students would learn in American schools above all is the religion of Jesus”. It’s hard to imagine how far we have fallen, when school children can no longer utter the words “under God” in reciting the “Pledge of Allegiance”. John Quincy Adams in a letter to his son wrote; “The Law given from Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was a civil and municipal as well as a moral and religious code.” Thomas Jefferson said, “Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern which have come under my observation, none appears to me so pure as that of Jesus”. Andrew Jackson said, “That book [Bible], sir, is the rock on which our Republic rests.” Despite this irrefutable evidence from the founders, our Judeo Christian heritage is constantly under attack. The 1st Amendment, “establishment of religion” clause, has been manipulated by secularists of every ilk. The result is clearly evident in the “moral relativism” that permeates throughout this country today.
- Our participating membership in the United Nations. The United Nations is transparent in its anti-American views, and its disdain for our national sovereignty. Each year millions of American tax dollars get funneled through this corrupt organization to the cause of facilitating the “New World Government”. Furthermore, this corrupt world body remains headquartered on our sovereign land while approximately 22% of its bills are paid with American tax dollars. Still, the blatant audacity of this corrupt organization can be illustrated no better than its proposal for a “World Tax”. This will require more American tax dollars to be squandered away to the cause of facilitating the “One World Government”. Thomas Jefferson in speaking to the Rights of British America in 1774 said, “Our properties within our own territories [should not] be taxed or regulated by any power on earth but our own.” In short, this corrupt organization is a direct contradiction to our Sovereign Constitutional Republic.
- The private banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve has been fiscally raping the American taxpayer since it came into existence in 1913. Thomas Jefferson spoke vehemently against allowing the peoples monetary system to be controlled by private banks, and feared the dangers of doing such. In his words, “Banking establishments are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies”. In Article 1, Section 8 of our Constitution, authorization is granted to Congress for “the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof.” In its failure to meet this constitutional responsibility, Congress has allowed The Federal Reserve (private banking cartel) to impose, control, and manipulate its fiat monetary system on the American taxpayer. It is no coincidence that this corrupt private banking cartel was formed the same year that the 16th Amendment was unconstitutionally ratified; making the American taxpayer the “cash cow” of the Federal Reserve. To further validate this point I refer to the words of Congressman Louis T. McFadden, speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives on June 10,1932; “Mr. Chairman, we have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks. The Federal Reserve Board, a government board, has cheated the government of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt”.
- The unlawful and unconstitutional administering of the federal income tax. Americans now surrender approximately 50% of gross earnings to this system of government extortion, and other forms of taxation. First, the government taxes our wages before we see a dime. The same money is taxed again upon the purchase of most goods and services. After a lifetime of excessive taxation from Federal, State, Local governments, we eventually succumb to the second necessary evil of life, and pass on. The federal government then extends its condolences to the family of the deceased in the form of the “Death Tax”. This is not economic liberty folks! When the government is allowed to steal the “fruits of the people’s labor” to the benefit of increasing control over them, the inevitable result at best will lead to Socialism. To emphasize this point, I refer to the following words of former IRS Commissioner T. Coleman Andrews; “The income tax is fulfilling the Marxist prophecy that the surest way to destroy a capitalist society is by steeply graduated taxes on income and heavy levies upon the estates of people when they die”. The founders would never have ascribed to, nor would they have allowed our current subjugating tax rate to be the law of the land. Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Samuel Kercheval in 1816 wrote the following; “To preserve [the] independence [of the people], we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, like them, we must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers.” Looking ahead, I see only two options; “We the People” can speak up and demand constitutional government, or we can “live…on oatmeal and potatoes”.
- The increasing use of our Military in unconstitutional wars. Our founders were clear in reserving the use of our military to defend against threats to our homeland, our freedom, safety, and national sovereignty. In the words of John Adams, “America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy”. The hard truth is; America has metastasized into the same imperialism that our founders sought refuge from. Wars cost a lot of money. The Global Elitists lend the money at high interest rates, and often times, whether it overtly or covertly are lending to both sides of the conflict. Take for instance Prescott Bush, the grandfather of our current president. It is public record that in 1942 he was charged by the US Government with running Nazi front groups for Hitler in the United States. After seizing his company’s records, the US government discovered parts of Prescott Bush’s empire provided significant assistance to the Nazi Germany war effort. There is no loyalty to country with these people. They have their own agenda, and wars provide a means for the global elitists to break down nations borders, dismantle nation’s sovereignty, manipulate global trade, strengthen their control over people, and increase their wealth. For example; the “War on Terror” has served the elitists well in being the catalyst to forming the “Department of Homeland Security”. At the time of hurricane Katrina, FEMA was operating under the new organizational structure of the Department of Homeland Security. What we witnessed, was the worst response to a natural disaster since the Stone Age. If the Department of Homeland Security has a noble cause, don’t you think, under the terrorist threat we are constantly reminded of, they would be “Securing the Homeland” at the borders. In my opinion, the Department of Homeland Security has been created not to protect us, but to one day protect the government from us. This will happen when “We the People” are finally denied our constitutional right to bear arms, and then called to “Marshall Law”.
- The failure of the federal government to secure our borders continues to enable undocumented illegal aliens and terrorists to enter the country at will. This constitutional failure of our federal government puts the safety and economic stability of all Americans at risk. Our federal government finds itself in the difficult situation of trying to serve two masters. To appease the voting public, they debate, and concoct ridiculous ineffective policy, not to solve the problem, but hoping to fool people into believing they are doing the “people’s work”, and will still be worthy of our vote. In reality they are serving the agenda of the Global Elitists. The superficial public debate then becomes nothing more than a deceptive means to a pre-determined outcome….business as usual. The immigration policy in this country or lack there of, is a disgrace and seeks to destroy our national sovereignty. The convictions of our country’s heritage have been undermined by many of the millions of immigrants that now enter this country with no interest at all in being an American.
- World trade. While NAFTA has proven long ago to be counter productive to our economic liberty, the situation will be further exasperated by the Bush enactment of CAFTA. The American people have been sold a “bill of goods” in being led to believe that “free trade” will advance our economic prosperity. Look at the European Union (EU); those European countries that comprise the EU surrendered their national sovereignty. They have forfeited their independent monetary systems to the Euro, and subsequently have been plagued with moral and economic decline. Tragically, they were lured into the EU under the auspices of “free trade”. George Washington left no room for ambiguity when he said, “It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world”. Instead of heeding to Washington’s wisdom, our government removes most tariffs on imported goods for the purpose of appeasing corporations. The corporations then move operations to a foreign country for cheap labor, and consequently we lose more high tech and other skill jobs. Incidentally, our founders believed tariffs to be a major source of tax revenue.
We are indeed living in precarious times. It is incumbent upon all Americans to understand the magnitude of our situation. Thomas Jefferson understood the necessity of an informed citizenry when he said, “Educate and inform the whole mass of the people…They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty”. Throughout this essay, I have gone to painstaking lengths in quoting the founders. It is my intention to resurrect the voice of the founders, to illustrate our honorable beginning, and the evolution of our diametrical present day reality. The truth is clear; we live in a Free Republic no more. Freedom isn’t free, and no man is less free than he who foolishly thinks he is, and does nothing to preserve it. In retrospect, on has to wonder how we have become so apathetic to the prodigious abuse of power at all levels of government.
During a fiftieth anniversary celebration of the Declaration of Independence, John Adams lifted his glass and made his final public proclamation in saying; “Independence Forever!” I am of the belief that America has reached a fork in the road; like the Lutheran Pastor in 1776 said, “The time to preach and the time to pray have passed away”. The hour is once again upon us, that we must now fight as our founding patriots did, to secure our independence, and preserve the blessing of our God given liberty. This will take courage; it will require sacrifice, and will demand the character of a true Patriot. And so I ask my fellow Americans, Where have all the Patriots gone?
