The News Buckit takes up InstaPunks challenge:

Well, I propose an exercise to be perfomed by those who have the software and expertise to carry it out. The exercise is this: Search six months’ worth of content, posts and comments, of the 20 most popular blogs on the right and the left. The search criteria are George Carlin’s infamous “7 Dirty Words.”

I am absolutely certain that the left will far exceed the right in the number of usages of all these words, which will go a long way toward proving that it’s the right which is still concerned with ideas while it’s the left that’s obsessed with the lowest kind of hateful invective.

Anyone care to take up the challenge?

The results are interesting, to put it …diplomatically.

A reckoning in slow motion

And thus it begins: Blair announces Iraq troops cut. Britain’s move will be seized on by Dhimmicrat opportunists here in the U.S. to browbeat the Prez into something similar …and he’ll probably, eventually cave. The troops will come home, annoyed, frustrated, yet not really surprised that those of us back home couldn’t manage to signal our elected “leaders” to stand fast. But none of this is the worst of what is to come.

So what?

That’s my response to this: House OKs Measure Opposing Troop Surge. Is this a sad day for our country? Yep. Should we be disappointed not only in our leadership — yep — but also in ourselves, collectively, for choosing that leadership? Yep. Take notes and learn, lazy America.

Now: so what? It’s a non-binding measure, which pretty much means what you think it means: it’s just to make a point. I like to think of it as the House of Representatives equivalent of your three-year-old stamping his feet and screaming, “IWANT IWANT IWANT IWANT!!!” The point being, of course, that the libtards want camera time to show how serious they are about standing up to the Evil White House …even if they lack the cajones to try to actually do anything about their ©Principled Positions. Personally, I think President Bush should shrug his shoulders and keep on keepin’ on — prior to the elections there was much clamoring for “a change of direction”, including the bright idea of sending some more troops. Now that both of these things have come to pass, the dhimmicrats CAN’T GO ALONG WITH BUSHITLER!!!!!1 OH NOES!!! No, they have to politically posture and make like Big and Bad so that the freaky-freak far left KosKids can froth even more — albeit in a marginally more positive way than usual, even if it won’t last.

So what exactly are we waiting for…?

Iran, folks. In the Anna Nicole/Shrillary/Obama blitz that is the media of late, the EU’s favorite rogue state seems to have moseyed it’s way to the newscycle back burner. Two pieces to, ah, refocus your attention:

  1. Iraqi insurgents using Austrian rifles from Iran
  2. Too late to halt Iran’s nuclear bomb, EU is told

(hattip to ye ol’ Drudge for both)

The headlines don’t do the articles justice, either. In the piece on the rifles, it turns out that the Austrian sale took place last year, with much protestation from us and the Brits for fears that — wait for it — the high-powered anti-personnel weapons would “find their way” to the hands of “insurgents” in Iraq. To quote the article,

Within 45 days of the first HS50 Steyr Mannlicher rifles arriving in Iran, an American officer in an armoured vehicle was shot dead by an Iraqi insurgent using the weapon.

It wouldn’t seem that there is really much grey area here. Next.

I’ll be voting for Newt Gingrich for President of the United States in 2008, thank you very much.
