In honor of the protests
Monday, May 1st, 2006…we here at argus will be adding links to the Border Fence Project — from their webpage:
Proposal: To patch and extend U.S.-Mexico border fence along all 1952 miles of southern border using high-tech TV cameras, microphones, lighting, motion and other electronic sensors, with voluntary civilian labor, donations, private border-ranch fencing profits, and maintenance teams, for less than $2.50 per foot or $23 million.
What’s not to like?
To quote Reagan, “government isn’t the solution to our problem — government is the problem.” Forget DC — they’ve proven themselves frighteningly corrupt and all but immobilized (especially on domestic issues) by their addiction to power, so it’s up to us to get something done. You can click on this link or on the small banner link in the right-hand menu to go to the Border Fence Project’s donation page — if 2.5 million people each donated just $10 (or more!) the fence could be built. Forget Washington’s responses that such a project “isn’t practical” — hard-working American’s built this country and created this government; surely we can build a 2000-mile barrier to secure our own border.
Step up to the plate. You have a duty to your children (whether you have any yet or not) to at least think about this problem — whether you donate money to the Border Fence Project or not isn’t the point: that you do something is the point. Call or write your congressional reps. Yell at them to support stricter illegal immigration measures, be they the building of a wall on the border or stricter punishments for those who employ illegal aliens. Just do something. I’ve signed up to be a link affiliate, in addition to donating fundage to the cause. What will you do?
