Nichole and I became homeowners last Friday morning. It’s not quite what we’d always envisioned (it’s small and in a cluster home-ish neighborhood), but then again neither is my income :) Life is about trade-offs and compromise. It’s newer (1999) and the demographics of the area are pretty good (most people are owners, drive to work, that sort of thing) so we feel good about the location — aside from the fact that it quadruples my commute :/

Our house!

But we couldn’t be more excited. This week we’re having hardwoods installed, and we’ll be painting Audrey’s room and the downstairs half-bath over the next few weekends — and after that, we’ll hire some movers and 301 ourselves. It’s hard to believe that in the space of ONE YEAR the biggest three life milestones that I have always wondered about will get checked off:

  1. Get married. (Done – July 16, 2005)
  2. Buy a house. (Done – April 28, 2006)
  3. Have a kid. (Scheduled for August 3, 2006)

Suffice it to say that when the Lord wants to put your life on a new path, He very probably won’t mess around :)
