Homeowners

Nichole and I became homeowners last Friday morning. It’s not quite what we’d always envisioned (it’s small and in a cluster home-ish neighborhood), but then again neither is my income :) Life is about trade-offs and compromise. It’s newer (1999) and the demographics of the area are pretty good (most people are owners, drive to work, that sort of thing) so we feel good about the location — aside from the fact that it quadruples my commute :/

Our house!

But we couldn’t be more excited. This week we’re having hardwoods installed, and we’ll be painting Audrey’s room and the downstairs half-bath over the next few weekends — and after that, we’ll hire some movers and 301 ourselves. It’s hard to believe that in the space of ONE YEAR the biggest three life milestones that I have always wondered about will get checked off:

  1. Get married. (Done - July 16, 2005)
  2. Buy a house. (Done - April 28, 2006)
  3. Have a kid. (Scheduled for August 3, 2006)

Suffice it to say that when the Lord wants to put your life on a new path, He very probably won’t mess around :)

    Yeah!

You forgot another positive about owning your own house now. You will have ample opportunity to get plenty of sunlight while you are doing all the yard work you have not had to worry about for the past 10 years :)

Wow Robert!! You are really growing up fast huh. Don’t worry though the next five years will probably be the best of your entire life. You just keep treating Nichole like she is the most beautiful most, wonderful person alive (which she is of course) and you will be a happy, happy man! This does get harder when you have had only two hours of sleep for three days, but it is never more important than then. Love you and I am so happy and proud of my little “skinny” brainiac nephew. You are a great example for my boys. I REALL Y wish ya’ll could come to beach so we could talk some before you never have time to talk anymore, but I understand. However, if the doctors gives you any room to travel, please come!!! love you all, Aunt
