Sixty-one Days

Monday, May 16th, 2005

That’s the number of days remaining until my wedding — according to the daily countdown update I get from my fee-yon-say :)

Invitations were mailed out today, thanks to her tireless efforts slaving over the wax sealing process. Honeymoon plans are booked (and no, I’m not telling ANYONE where we’re going — although I will say we’ll be there for a full week). All the major reservations have been made, and all the desired services retained (except for the girls dancing in cages at the reception — I got vetoed).

We even have a wedding website up. Sorry, fan club: I won’t be posting that link here — to keep out the riff-raff and spammers — so if you want to check it out and you don’t get an invitation within the next week, leave a comment indicating your interest. And I’ll consider letting you in :D That being said, I’m pretty certain that anyone that would be reading this will be getting an invitation anyway.

TiddlyWiki

Friday, May 13th, 2005
  1. I can’t believe I just named a post “TiddlyWiki”. Can’t wait to see the comments about that
  2. If you’re a nerd, or even just might be, you should check it out: http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ What is it? From the home page:

“…an experimental MicroContent WikiWikiWeb built by JeremyRuston. It’s written in HTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and JavaScript to run on any modern browser without needing any ServerSide logic. It allows anyone to create personal SelfContained hypertext documents that can be posted to any web server, sent by email or kept on a USB thumb drive to make a WikiOnAStick.”

  3. If you don’t know what a Wiki is, see this summary (which appears slightly inaccurate now: “server software”)

Crazy. Not sure yet just how useful this would be to me, but it definitely has potential — for my personal use and, as it turns out, at work. Crazy :)

San Diego Redux

A quick two-day work jaunt out to Camp Pendleton, exactly one year and one month after my last trip. Stayed in Carlsbad once again — although this time in a hotel right on the beach. Definitely an improvement. Sunset at Carlsbad State Park Work was a one-day affair, with one meeting scheduled for the morning and an afternoon set aside to work with another customer at the same site, installing and demoing our latest beta software. However, their computer lab was being renovated, so we had to postpone (for a later trip! woot!) our plans to install and demo stuff …which left me with an afternoon (2:30pm on) and evening free and to myself. A quick stop by Target for shorts and flip-flops and it was off to the beach…
