At his request:
[02/03/2005 16:20:52] Jon: you should so have a contest for domain name ideas for me on your blog :)
…I am creating the first ever Name Jon’s Domain contest. It’s about as simple as it sounds: come up with a domain name for Jon, and if he uses it …then you win. What do you win, you ask? Cash prize? Tickets for two to the Clermont Lounge’s “after midnight” session? An appliance garage for your counter top? Welp, none of the above — and none of anything else, actually. So what incentive do you have to participate? I don’t really know :D But, if you contribute something and Jon a) likes it and b) likes it enough to actually use it, I’m sure he’ll be quite grateful. Perhaps grateful enough that he’ll get you something.
I’ll leave it to Jon to post in the comments anymore guidelines that he comes up with. And that’s where all of your submissions should go: in the circular fi… I mean, uh, in the comments.

Haha, oh the insanity of the creative process!
No real guidelines with this other than common sense and good taste. I guess I have been trying to come up with something unique that could be used in many different uses without looking weird. Like if I decide I want to let a family member use a subdomain (xxxx.winner.net), I wouldn’t want someone they tell the address to instantly ask what the hell that domain is. I would hope it could blend in somewhat easily in any use, but still have a unique quality to it. I’m not asking much now am i? :)

How about: jonkjunk.com/net/org ? Mixes identity with self-deprecating nature of startup blogs.
Adam, who misread “let’s talk about hair” on the sidebar as “let’s talk about human hair” (borrowing the human from simplehuman.org)

A follow up:

Anything with my name in it is not good because for multiple uses (including other people) it is kind of lame.

So I guess anything with “dildo” is out of the question (not a real suggestion, I just wanted Morris to have the word “dildo” in his blog).

Keep in mind Mike…His sister DOES read his blog and DOESN’T want to see those words in his blog. Lets think before we type…for my protection…thanks. :)
