Firefox hackery
posted by robert - December 15th, 2004 at 1:27 PMI have discovered today that one can get into the guts of Firefox by merely entering about:config into the URL bar (thanks to this post, discovered by me while browsing Planet Wordpress). As that post outlines, URL autocomplete can be enabled in Firefox. Cool :)
My Extension of the day is ForecastFox, which puts little unobtrusive forecast icons either in your statusbar (at the bottom) or up at the top, your choice (with alignment options, to boot). Mousing over these icons pops up a tooltip with more info. The best part: what’s displayed in the icon labels and the mouseover tooltip is uber configurable, and the extension’s “Options” GUI is top-notch. Mad-props to the author. Highly recommended.

Perhaps you’d get a kick out of my extension. It’s called “LookAhead” and you can find out more about it by checking out the link to it under “Search Tools” at update.mozilla.org
Hope you check it out and that you like it!

If I had a nickel for every time I wished my web browser had a weather toolbar, I’d…
Oh, wait.
