No news is good news?

So I’m toying with the idea of giving up reading the news every day. Or, more correctly, I’m toying with the idea of giving up reading the news every day as much as I currently do. I’ve been wrestling with several general conditions of mind-malaise these past few days, and I’ve managed to pin down some of the primary contributors:
- My living situation: I’m ready for a house. Yes, yes, I recognize that there are tons of issues that come along with owning a house, so don’t think I’m succumbing to the “grass is greener” mentality. But I’m tired of tossing nearly a kay of hard earned dollars into the wind every month; I’d be willing to stomach quite a bit more of a monthly “rent” if it was going into a house — because I know I can get that money back one day.
“So buy a house already!” you say. The sucker-punch catch of my current situation? The aforementioned kay-a-month (plus utils) is preventing me from really being able to save any serious deniros — or at least save enough to seriously contribute to the down payment fund. “So get a roommate, you crybaby!” Great idea — I’ve been searching for nearly 8 months now. No dice.
